Bioriginal acquires Softgel’s assets and pet facility

The Canadian pet ingredient and supplement manufacturer Bioriginal has announced the takeover of Softgel, a Colorado-based manufacturer of soft gel squeeze tube products, including nutritional pet products.

Under the deal, Bioriginal will acquire a state-of-the-art facility that specializes in the encapsulation of human and pet nutrition products. “The Softgel facility will be taking immediate steps to double its capacity to meet the demand from Bioriginal,” the company says in a statement.

President and CEO Shannon Sears explains that they chose to acquire the company in a bid to remove the need to outsource soft gel production and improve efficiency in the production process and supply chain management.

This is Bioriginal’s 4th acquisition this year. The manufacturer is currently operating in Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Japan and has 18 warehouses across the globe.

Softgel has over 10 years of experience in the industry and can produce over 1 million products per day.
